Rockford Restaurant Featured on TV Show "Check Please"
A Rockford restaurant was recently featured on the PBS TV show "Check Please". The Social Urban Bar & Restaurant was reviewed by Dr. Bob Thukral and he strongly recommends the eatery because of its communal dining experience and food that is locally sourced.
Owner and Chef Paul Sletten says the goal of Social was to "create an experience that feels a little different than going to a restaurant". They have a locally sourced menu and feature drinks that bring back the art of the cocktail.

Jazz on the Rock
Grab your zoot suit, wing-tipped shoes, boa and long strand of pearls, and mark your calendar for the 15th Annual Jazz on the Rock, "Roaring 20's Gala", on Friday, June 13 at Rockford Country Club. Hosted by Children's Home + Aid's Northern Regional Advisory Board, this roaring night of prohibition-era fun will provide necessary funding to support critical programs for children and families in the Rockford area. The evening features jazz entertainment by Soundscape, a photo booth and a wine walk plus auction and raffles!
