The median age of U.S. Realtors is now 56 years with only 12% of Realtors under 40, says the National Association of Realtors. That means there is a 25-year age difference between the average Realtor and their first-time homebuyer clients. The generation gap worries members of the real estate industry who wonder how today's Realtors are interacting with younger, more tech-saavy buyers. Enter Rockford's new Young Professional Network. The Rockford Area Realtors "Young Professionals Network" was begun in 2014 to encourage motivated young professionals to enter the real estate industry.
