Business of the Year
Congratulations to Dickerson Nieman's Roscoe office which was awarded the "Business of the Year" award for 2012 by the Roscoe Area Chamber of Commerce.
These are people/ businesses that have not only committed their time and efforts to the Roscoe stateline area but have made huge impacts on our local economy. . .
This business began in 1964 and overcame countless changes throughout that time. Since then, they have expanded to 5 separate offices in 5 distinct locations throughout the Stateline area. The fact that this company is still going strong is a testament to the resiliency of our Stateline people.
Our Real Estate market had really been on a roller coaster ride in the past decade. What had historically been a very slow, "even" business since its beginning, the turn of the century brought dramatic changes. The "boom" created many new real estate offices and hundreds of new agents. When the "bust" came, it hit with a vengeance! Many offices closed while countless agents had to leave the business.
Dickerson & Nieman Realtors "stayed the course" and survived. At the peak of 2006 to the bottom of 2011, their yearly income dropped almost 67%. Within those 5 years, Dickerson & Nieman became creative at cutting expenses and honing their skills, while not cutting quality of service. They endured while many other real estate companies were forced to shut their doors.
Last year, Dickerson & Nieman finally saw a yearly increase of almost 30%, and added 22 more agents! They remain the #1 real estate office in the Stateline area.
Throughout Dickerson & Nieman's history, in good market or bad, they have always supported our local community and varied charities such as, the Rockford Rescue Mission, Habitat for Humanity, Rockford Arts Council, the YMCA, local food banks, and more. In addition, they also realize the importance of supporting our local Chamber of Commerce.
