Each year, Rockford is an amazing place to celebrate the holiday season and this year is no exception! The season kicks off in full gear this Thanksgiving weekend with two events bound to provide hours of fun for your family.
Rockford Thanksgiving Turkey Trot
The Rockford Road Runners' oldest race is the Rockford Thanksgiving Turkey Trot which takes place on Thanksgiving Day. The trail race course at Aldeen Park is approximately a 5K distance. Runners guess their time with no timepieces allowed. Finish closest to your predicted time to win Thanksgiving turkeys or pies but you must be present to win. Start time is slated for 9am though those that expect to take longer than an hour may have an early start at 8:30am.
