We asked some Dickerson & Nieman real estate agents what was the one biggest lesson they learned in 2013 about the real estate market and business overall. Here's what some of them had to say...
Get rid of my fear of asking for business. When I ask, I almost always get it.
– Robin Henry
Communicate with all parties when working with more than one person, as information is sometimes not relayed as well as you may think.
– Ron Belcher
Finally accepting that I can't advance without a plan and goals. That trying to avoid failure by not setting goals IS failure.
– Sandy McTernan
Self promotion opportunities that I have missed, you never know where the next sale/listing will come from.
– Nancy Newsome
Importance of social media. I was amazed by the number of "likes" after posting an article about the market, new listings or just asking for help with "new listings".
– Jayne Ragan
We also asked them what they thought the biggest opportunities would be in 2014...
Staying in constant contact with buyers so when the right property comes along they are immediately notified.
– Mike Long
To network, get involved and let people know what I do. Put my face in front of people and let them get to know me.
– Rachel Elliott
Buyers that would like to move up before interest rates and prices increase, allowing them to purchase "more" home than they will be able to afford in a few years.
– Jayne Ragan
Focusing on my highly satisfied clients to gain increased referral business.
– Bob Schofield
Since opportunity is in all segments, picking a segment each month and concentrating advertising in that area (downsizing, first time home buyers, last time home buyers, investors).
– Steve Ferrall
