After a winter with record-breaking cold and snow, it's time to think spring! Several events in March kick off the spring season in the Rockford area.
Don't miss the 34th annual Rockford Home Show this weekend (Friday 3p-8p, Saturday 10a-7p, Sunday 11a-5p) at the Indoor Sports Center in Loves Park. Adult admission is just $6 while children under 12 are free. The Rockford Home Show is a great place to shop for new products and services pertaining to your home. See new ideas, concepts and expertise on interior and exterior design. Attend seminars, receive free antique appraisals and more.
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with help from the Irish Marching Society as they host their annual parade and party on Saturday, March 15th. The Irish Marching Society has been celebrating the Irish culture in Rockford for 37 years and gives back proceeds to area charities. This year's parade starts at 3p with lineup starting at 2p at the Harris Bank Corporate Office parking lot on 7th Street. Doors open at 4:30p at the Clock Tower Resort's Wallingford Ballroom featuring Irish entrees including Corned Beef and Cabbage, Irish Lamb Stew and Chocolate Whiskey Cake along with entertainment from the City of Rockford Pipe Band, Irish and Scottish dancers, Gaelic Fury Irish Pub music and more. Admission is included with IMS membership or just $10 at the door with kids under 14 admitted free!
March 15th and 16th are the dates for the 18th annual RoRo Expo, the stateline's premier exhibitor event in Rockton. The event showcases community businesses and services with free admission. Food and drinks will be available for purchase as well. Saturday 9a-4p and Sunday 10a-3p at Hononegah High School (Athletic Dome entrance) in Rockton.
