Fast food is fine, but there's nothing like a really good restaurant burger, so why not treat yourself? There are plenty of great burger destinations near Rockford homes for sale. Here are a few of our favorites.

In addition to the standard burger house offerings, Baker Street Burgers features a variety of "elevated burgers," like their Peach BBQ  Brisket Burger with white cheddar and garlic aioli, their Fat Tony burger with pepperoni and mozzarella on a focaccia bun, or their birria burger with braised beef and guajillo dunking sauce. Try them with one of their "cocktails for a cause," drinks designed by some of the best bartenders in the country, with a portion of the proceeds going toward those bartenders' favorite charities. - Stockyard Rock Burger Bar - 908 W. Themed after some of the greatest music of the 20th century, Stockyard Rock Burger Bar features such offerings as Stairway to Stockyard with applewood smoked bacon and pulled pork; Sweet Burger O'Mine with barbecue pork belly and blue cheese; and The Elvis with peanut butter, jelly, and bacon. While it may not be fancy, Buddy's Burgers is delicious. The Buddy Burger is just two fresh beef patties, grilled to order and served with your choice of toppings. They also have veggie and turkey burger options, plus a variety of sides, from waffle fries to fried mushrooms to potato salad to liquid cheese—as well as shakes, apple pie, and more. If you want something simple, classic, and delicious, Buddy's Burgers is your best bet. - Mr. Burger - 605 W. State St., Rockford, IL 61102
Served fast-food style with diner quality, Mr. Burger offers affordable burgers that taste great. They've got all the classics from regular hamburgers to double bacon cheeseburgers, plus a Hawaiian burger, a gyro burger, a jalapeno burger, and more. You can also get nachos, chicken wings, and even salmon or lamb over rice—most of it priced under $10. - Mr. C's Family Restaurant - 4309 W. State St., Rockford, IL 61102
Since 1999, the locally-owned Mr. C's Family Restaurant has served handmade burgers with fresh, high-quality ingredients. They have single, double, triple, and "fourple" cheeseburgers and patty melts. They also have a Hemingway-style burger with crisp bacon, grilled mushrooms, and cheddar cheese on a kaiser roll, and a West-Sider with grilled onions and Sweet Baby Ray's on Texas Toast. In addition to burgers, they also have great fried chicken, liver and onions, and an all-day breakfast menu. - Behr Den Restaurant - 1125 Seminary St., Rockford, IL 61104
If you want great diner-style food that's cheap and delicious, Behr Den Restaurant has what you need. Open daily for breakfast and lunch, you can get a burger with potato chips and pickles for under $5. Their regular burger is served with Swiss and American cheeses, bacon, and either one beef patty or two. You can also get a Farmer's Bergher with cheddar and an egg, a Grinder with ham and pepper jack, or a patty melt with grilled onions on rye. Be advised the restaurant is cash only.
