This park has a music shell for outdoor concerts, picnic areas, and plenty of activities throughout the summer. A well-maintained, peaceful natural area with numerous hiking trails and picnic tables, Blackhawk Springs Forest Preserve is an excellent spot to capture stunning photos. The park has a mix of paved and unpaved trails, with most being relatively easy. There's plenty of parking, and restroom access is available.
Kishwaukee River Forest Preserve - 5757 Blackhawk Road, Rockford, IL 61109
Kishwaukee River Forest Preserve offers both wooded and open trails that extend along the Kishwaukee River. The trails are pet-friendly and clearly marked. This park is the perfect spot for exercise, fresh air, or a barbecue. Restrooms and picnic tables are onsite, and this section of the river is popular for fishing.
