Rockford AirFest 2014
Rockford AirFest 2014 returns this weekend on Saturday and Sunday after a one-year hiatus! This two-day community event expects crowds near 75,000 people to Rockford to enjoy the thrill of aviation. In addition to the wonderful acts in the air, there are more than 100 ground attractions including aircraft on display, children's play area, aircraft simulators, and more. Rockford AirFest 2014 is proud to have hosted some of the best pilots in the world, including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, and the Black Diamond Jet Team. Sharefest 2014
Plans for this year's Rockford Sharefest Project were released. So here's the news...this year we will join together to bring help and hope to our city at Roosevelt High School and a downtown initiative called Forest City Beautiful! In partnership with RPS 205, a major renovation will find its way to some very deserving students at Roosevelt High School. This school is a second chance destination for young men and women who are capturing new vision and purpose for their life. All of your sweat equity will bring restoration to a building that matches the restoration taking place in their own lives! What a great way to live beyond yourself! REPORT RANKS NATION'S LARGEST REAL ESTATE FIRMS (REAL Trends, Inc.-Denver) According to a recent research report produced by REAL Trends, the 500 largest residential real estate brokerage firms in the nation controlled just over 2 million residential sales transactions in 2013. The transactions represent close to 32.6 percent of all new and resale transactions completed by brokers during the year, yet the REAL Trends 500 represented less than three-fifths of one percent of all brokerage firms. The 500 ranked brokers closed 2,577,483 home transactions with a value of over $767 billion during 2013 up from $624 billion in calendar year 2012. Included in the REAL Trends 500 is Dickerson & Nieman Realtors headquartered in Rockford. Dickerson & Nieman ranked number 384 in the REAL Trends 500 with 1,786 residential transaction sides closed last year.
