Spring has arrived in the Rockford area and with springtime comes another Rockford pastime – stock car racing at Rockford Speedway. Rockford Speedway's inaugural season was in 1948 and this year marks their 66th year of operation which makes it Northern Illinois' oldest professional and continuous sports venue. Rockford Speedway has been called "Mid-America's Finest Racetrack" and its' high-banked quarter mile oval is rich in racing tradition. Most importantly for Rockford-area families, the Speedway is the site of great family fun! Their schedule is packed full of family-oriented racing events including this Saturday's "Tractor Town Kid's Night" featuring tractor rides, Late Models, American Sportsmen, Road Runners, Stop 'N Go plus Allison Legacy and free racing poster to the first 1,000 kids and a candy scramble.
